THE GODLY BLESSING… Genesis 22:1-19; Prov.10:22
WHAT IS BLESSING?
… Blessing is a powerful verbal conferment of words that add long lasting values to the life of the receiver.
” IN Hebrew, it’s ‘barak’, a verb which means ‘to praise, add value to, congratulate, or salute’. It’s a verbal utterance backed with power.
Another Hebrew meaning is esher, which is translated as happiness (noun, result of barak) . It is the reflection of the verb barak, the utterance.
In the New Testament, have two Greek noun words Makarios, and eugelio… meaning happiness and success; respectively.
Combining these words together, blessing can then be fully explained as a verbal utterance that confers good report, value., and happiness on the receiver.
Blessings started in the beginning with God when He conferred upon his creation in Genesis 1:22 …. “Be fruitful, multiply and fill the water of the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”
Whenever God confers a blessing, it is accompanied by lots of powerful abilities on whosoever receives it, and its immediate environment.
This simply means that if you are blessed by God, everything about you and around you is automatically influenced for comfortable and all round multiplication called WEALTH. It is this kind that have no regret.
Prov.10:22 says….The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it. That means when God bless you, the wealth it brings revolves around your spiritual and physical existence.
Your Personality changes. Your handiwork, finances, marriages, children, and everything revolving around you changes as well. I see someone sitting down there receive a turn-around in Jesus name!
Is there any area of your life that seems still and stale? I declare again,The blessing of the lord will locate the situation and bring a final turn around in Jesus name!
WHAT ARE THE FACTS ABOUT BLESSING?
Fact 1: Blessing is generational.
The generation of Israel very relevant and behind every modern technology today is so because of Abrahamic blessings.
God blessed Abraham in Genesis 22:18…. and from the same generational blessing, our generation and race (hearthens) benefits today through Jesus Christ our saviour.
Fact 2: Blessings is a godly treasure that can be exchanged, terminated or traded away by any loose, selfish, and carless generation who does not understand it. Esau, Children of Eli and King Saul’s lineage, are typical examples.
Fact 3: Blessings can be reversed if its conditions are violated.
Here, children needs to be very careful. If you force your Godly parents to painfully curse you inwardly or verbally, you are finished. Jacob cursed Reuben destined to be great due to his stinking habit, Elisha cursed Gehazi alike.
Fact no 4: Blessings can flow from people of God irrespective of age.
Here, we must NOT cheat on weak or young people thinking they cannot do anything. They have angels. In addition, God can decide to fight for them if they cry for vengeance.
Fact no 5: Man can bless God. (In praises). We bless God, not because He is deficient, but because He created us for that, and He delights in it. When we praise God in our little way for His greatness, we return all the glory back to Him, and He is moved to bless us even more than we expect. Yoruba adage says….”o fi owo kekere gba nla”
Fact no 6: God’s blessing is the ultimate.
Please note: No matter how much man blesses us, if God is angry, the blessing can be reversed. So it’s the best to seek God’s blessing first before seeking man’s blessings for lasting effect.
WHAT ARE THE CRITERIA FOR ATTRACTING DIVINE BLESSINGS?
Rightful positioning and steps…i.e being where God wants you to be, and taking proper, timely steps….(Genesis 12:1-3)…. When God called Abram to go to the Promised Land, He promised to bless him, make his name great, and through him, to bless all the families of the earth. If Abraham had refused to move, someone else will be used, and his name will not be known today.
Offering of thankful praises, as mentioned before.
Sacrificial giving, as demonstrated by:
God through Jesus,
Abraham through Isaac in our lesson for today, and;
Abel over Cain. Sacrificial giving invokes God’s blessings.
Total Obedience, both in thoughts and actions…. Deuteronomy 28:1-14.
Trust – When you trust God with all of your heart, you leave Him with no choice than to bless your paths .
Discernment
God’s Word and the Holy Spirit convict us of sinfulness in our lives and show us the things we should avoid. If we can discern and turn from our evil ways toward God, He will turn to us, heal us, and give good health to our bodies and nourishment to our bones.
Lets be on our feet.
